Audience-admired actress Naznin Hasan Chumki, known for portraying different roles on the small screen, has acted in a challenging role in a new telefilm titled ‘Ghas’. The telefilm is scripted by Masuma Maimur and directed by Golam Habib Litu. The actress will be seen playing the role of a paralysed person.

DhakaLive has news that the telefilm has been produced on the occasion of celebrating the International Mother’s Day.

The story of ‘Ghas’ revolves around a mother, who undergoes a lot of toil to raise her son. In her old age, she becomes paralysed and gets bedridden. After a while, her daughter-in-law begins to torture her mentally and physically. During the process, the daughter-in-law even stops giving food to the mother-in-law. Out of hunger, the mother drags her paralysed body out of bed every day and goes to the bank of a pond. There she eats grass to suppress her hunger in order to survive.

Chumki shared her experience, “I was actually very tensed when the director narrated the script to me. I had to portray four different stages of the life of an elderly mother. All I can say that the ending will give quite a shock to the audience.”

‘Ghas’ will be telecast on Channel i on May 13.
