Ekushey Padak-winning seasoned music director-composer Sujeyo Shyam has tuned and composed the music of 25 new original songs. The veteran musician will come up with these 25 songs in a musical programme on Bangladesh Television (BTV) very soon. Planned by BTV Director General Md Harun-Or-Rashid, the Independence Day-special programme titled ‘Bangaleer Asha Bangaleer Bhasha’ has been produced by Mahbuba Ferdous.

DhakaLive has news that these 25 songs are penned down by Md Harun-Or-Rashid, Nasir Ahmed, Panna Lal and others. Designed for presenting in five separate shows, country’s prominent singers like Shaheen Samad, Subir Nandi, Rafiqul Alam, Fahmida Nabi, Alak Sen, Dinat Jahan Munni, Apu, Shaheen Sharmin Shimu, Puspita Saha, Abu Baqar Siddique and Shaheen Aktar Papia have lent their vocals to the songs.

Sujeyo Shyam said about the 25 new original tracks, “I have never done a programme like this on BTV during last 47 years of Bangladesh’s Independence. Working with the tune and music composition of these 25 songs is really a big matter for me. An initiative like this for the songs of the country and independence is also very praiseworthy. I must thank the director general of BTV for taking a timely initiative. All singers have rendered the songs wonderfully. I am very satisfied as a music director.”

Popular singer Anupama Mukti will be seen anchoring all the five episodes of the music show. She said, “Sujeyo Shyam is our pride as well as an enlightened person in our musical arena. He has done 25 new songs, and I feel very fortunate that the audience will come to know the stories of these songs through me. This is really a big achievement for me to perform as an anchor of this show. I thank Mahbuba Ferdous.”

‘Bangaleer Asha Bangaleer Bhasha’ will start airing soon before the Independence Day.
