Marking the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has organised an eleven-day event titled ‘Bangabandhu Cultural Festival’ on the premises of BSA in the capital as well as different
district Shilpakala Academy premises.
The festival features art camp, art competition, recitation, music, theatre, film screening, film workshop and others at different venues of the academy.
As a part of the festival, a dance event titled ‘Nritya Projojona Ebong Sur O Banite Bangabandhu’ was held on the fifth day of the festival at the National Art Plaza of BSA yesterday.
At the event, artistes of BSA performed group dances with the songs ‘Dukhini Bangla Jononi Bangla,’ and ‘Mujib Mane Ar Kichu Na’, while dance group of Deepa Khandakar performed with ‘Bangabandhu Jatir Janak’ and ‘Onek Rokto Diyechhi Amra’, Anisul Haque Hiru’s dance group performed with ‘Sare Saat Koti Manusher’ and ‘Mujib Ache Banglar Ghore Ghore’, Farhana Chowdhury Baby’s dance group performed with ‘Shono Ekti Mujiborer Theke’ and ‘Jotodin Robe Podma Meghna’, Warda Rihab performed with ‘Tumi Bine Mujib’ and ‘Banglar Hindu Banglar Bouddho’ and group of Anik Bose performed with ‘Dhonya Mujib Dhonya’ and ‘Tumi Bolechhile Ebarer Songram’.
As a part of the celebration, a workshop on children film making will be held at the Cultural Digital Archive of BSA today morning and also a documentary on Bangabandhu will be screened at 5pm today.
Beginning from March 7, the festival will end with the celebration of the birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17.
