Customs intelligence yesterday morning arrested one at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and seized huge foreign currencies including British Pound, Euro, US Dollar and Thai Baht from his possession, reports BSS. “The man identified as Rezwan Morshed Pavel of Rampura, Dhaka, was waiting at the departure lounge to board Bangladesh Biman flight BG-0088 for Bangkok, Thailand. As customs member challenged him and asked whether he is carrying any undeclared foreign currencies or not, he denied,” a Customs Intelligence release said. Later the currencies were found in his bag and Pavel couldn’t show any necessary documents for those. Of the currencies, there were 7,615 British Pound, 3002 US Dollar, 1900 Euro and 80 Thai Baht. The currencies are equivalent to Taka 12, 91,632 in total.
