Begum Fazilatunnesa, mother of Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, passed away at a city hospital yesterday night at the age of 92, reports UNB. She breathed her last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) around 10:35pm. Fazilatunnesa was admitted to the hospital on February 23 after she suffered a stroke. She left behind five sons, five daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death. Bashurhat municipality mayor Abdul Quader Mirza, also Obaidul Quader's brother, said Fazilatunnesa will be buried at their family graveyard at Majhondighi in Noakhali following a namaz-e-janaza at Govt Mazid College ground after Zohr prayers today. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Fazilatunnesa. In a condolence message, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her sympathy to the bereaved family members.
