Probeen Seba Kendra opened in Netrakona

Netrakona: A senior citizen care centre - Subarta Probeen Seba Kendra - has launched its journey here with an aim to provide care and shelter to the elderly people of the district, reports BSS.

Deputy Commissioner of Netrakona Dr Musfiqur Rahman formally inaugurated the Subarta Probeen Seba Kendra at Baushi area of Barhatta upazila in Netrakona today.

President of the Baushi Union Awami League Shamsul Haque, police super Netrakona Joydeb Chowdhory, chairman of Barhatta upazila parishad Manik Azad and upazila nirbahi officer of Barhatta Upazila Farida Yasmin were, among others, present on the occasion.

Subarta Trust, a non profitable organisation, which is consolidated with a trustee board, established the elderly people care centre.

Talking to local journalists, founder and secretary general of Subarta Trust Salina Akther said Subarta Probeen Seba Kendra has launched its services with a view to giving special care to and ensuring special housing for the underprivileged and ultra-poor elderly people of the district.

She said noted educationist Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed is the chairman of the trust, which was established in 2009.
