Nearly 15 female students of Sholmari Secondary School in sadar upazila fell sick in class rooms yesterday. Mahbub Hossain, headmaster of the school, said Sanjida of class-VII became unconscious after convulsions when the class was going on. Seeing her condition other 14 students of different classes fell sick from mass hysteria and were rushed to Meherpur General Hospital for treatment. Alok Kumar Das, resident medical officer of the Meherpur General Hospital, said: “Treatment is going on and that there is nothing to be worried about.” The students suffered from collective hysteria, the headmaster said.
