People willing to perform Hajj will have to pay $1575 each in airfare this year. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism yesterday, the fare on Dhaka-Jeddah and Madina-Dhaka routes will be fixed in taka on the basis of the exchange rate of US dollar during the Hajj period. The package will include air fare $1550,  airport building charge in Saudi Arabia 174 Saudi riyal, hajj terminal service charge 30,000 Saudi riyal, Bangladesh embarkation fee Tk 575, security charges of the Saudi government $4 and travel agent commission $25. A total of 1,27,198 people will perform Hajj from Bangladesh this year. Of them 7,198 pople will perform Hajj under government management while the rest under private management. A deal in this regard was signed between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh at Al Mukarram in Makkah city of Saudi Arabia.

Religious Affairs Minister Motiur Rahman was present there on behalf of the Bangladesh government and Dr. Mohammad Saleh Bin Taher Bentan, Saudi Omrah and Hajj affairs minister, on behalf of Saudi Arabia.
