KHULNA: State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Naryan Chandra Chanda here yesterday said stern action will be taken against illegal drug users, traffickers, tiger poachers and terrorists, reports BSS. Expressing satisfaction that law and order situation is better now than the BNP-Jamaat government, the state minister said the government was right to show zero tolerance against terrorists, militants and fanatics.
He was addressing as chief guest at the law and order meeting, organised by Dumuria upazila parishad at the auditorium to create mass awareness about the method of preventing crime and terrorism.
The chief guest said the present government under the dynamic leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to free the country from all sorts of crime, terrorism and militancy for ensuring peace and security of the people.
He also urged the law enforcers to remain alert against the syndicate to be engaged in making counterfeit notes for using those in the cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Presided over by Dumuria upazila nirbahi officer Md Shamsuddoza, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Dumuria upazila chairman Khan Ali Monsur, and chairmen of different union parishads.
Later, the minister released fish fries at Baniakhali Bhadra Mora River in the upazila.
