Woman dies in road crash
A woman was killed and three others were injured in a road accident at Kakrail intersection in the capital yesterday morning. The deceased was Azibunnesa, 35. Sub-inspector of Ramna police station Sharif Hossain said the accident took place around 6am when a bus of ‘Suprabhat Paribahan’ hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, which was going to Shahjalal International Airport, leaving the auto-rickshaw passenger Azibunnesa dead on the spot and three others injured.
Injured two auto-rickshaw passengers --Masud Rana and Selina –were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while its driver to Islami Bank Central Hospital.
The three passengers of the auto-rickshaw were on way to the airport as they had a flight of Saudi Ariba scheduled for 10.30am.
Police recovered the body and sent it to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Fake certificate making equipment seized
Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a joint drive seized a number of equipment used for making fake certificates from Topkhana area of Sylhet city on Saturday night.
The seized equipment included two computers, one laminating machine and three printers.
Police also recovered some fake seals of government and private offices, police clearance forms, fake driving licenses, fake ID cards of different colleges and universities and a number of fake certificates from a house.
Shuhel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station, confirmed the incident and said on secret information, a joint team of police and RAB-9, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Main Uddin, conducted the drive at a house of Bibhash Kanti Das in Topkhana area on Saturday night.
