A Dhaka court yesterday adjourned the hearing of the blogger Rajib Haider murder trial till September 8, reports BSS. Judge Sayed Ahammed of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 passed the order after recording the depositions of three more witnesses in the trial. A total of 11 prosecution witnesses out of the 55 have testified in this trial. According to the case documents, Rajib was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Kalshi area of Pallabi on February 15, 2013. His father Dr Najim Uddin filed a murder case with the local police after that. Detective Branch (DB) of police inspector Nibaran Chandra Barman submitted a chargesheet accusing eight persons, including Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani. The seven other chargesheeted accused are Redwanul Azad Rana (absconding) Md Faisal Bin Nayem alias Dweep, Maksudul Hasan alias Anik, Md Ehsan Reza alias Rumman, Nayem Sikdar alias Iraj, Nafis Imtiaz and Sadman Yasir Mahmud. All of the seven are the students of North South University.
