DU student found dead at Hazaribagh

A Dhaka University student was found dead from beside a under construction building near Beribadh area of Hazaribagh in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Torun Hossain, a third year student of finance department also residence of Sir AF Rahman Hall of the university hailing from Kushtia district.

Hazaribagh officer in charge, Ikram Ali Mia quoting locals said that the residents of the area found Torun’s injured body besides the building where a mosque was also situated in the first floor named Baitul Amin after hearing sound of something falling from the high-rise building.

Torun was breathed his last in the midway while he was rushed to nearby medical complex, he added.   Later police received the body around 3.30pm.

Ikram Ali Mia also said that they did not found any anomalous thing in his cell phone and reason behind the dead would be known after autopsy.

We would take further steps after arrival of his family members, he added. Torun’s hall roommates said that he was very introvert and left the room after lunch on Wednesday without saying anything about his destination.

They further said that they did not find anything abnormal in recent past in his behaviour.

Dhaka University proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said he heard about the incident and the proctorial teams were heading towards Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
