Internet to be disrupted during SSC exam days

The internet will remain suspended for two and half hours every day during the remaining Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations across the country in a bid to prevent the question paper leak, reports UNB. President of Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ASPAB) Aminul Hakim told UNB that the internet will remain suspended for 30 minutes from 10pm yesterday on a trial basis.

The internet will remain disrupted from 8 am to 10:30 am on the exam days from February 12 to February 24. The internet service will also remain suspended from 12 pm to 2:30 pm on February 18.  Meanwhile, the internet service remained suspended for half an hour across the country on Sunday morning following a directive

from Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

The telecom regulator took the initiative to keep the mobile internet service suspended following the widespread allegations of question paper leak of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations through different social media apps, said sources at mobile phone operators.

The SSC question papers have been leaking out from the very first day of the examination. The question papers are being found on social media sites and mobile phone before starting of the examinations.
