Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening of Rabindra Sangeet titled ‘Preme, Prane Gaane’ by Abhijit Majumder, Sukanta Chakraborty and Senjuti Barua on February 14 at the Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital.
Abhijit Majumder is a promising Rabindra Sangeet singer from Kolkata who has done his Bachelors and Masters in Rabindra Sangeet and BEd in Vocal Music from Rabindra Bharati University with 1st class and is now pursuing Ph.D in Rabindra Sangeet from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. He was awarded National Scholarship by Ministry of Culture, Government of India for ‘Excellence in Rabindra Sangeet’ in 2009.
Sukanta Chakraborty is a promising young Rabindra Sangeet artiste from Bangladesh. He secured 1st class all through in the nine-year certificate course from Chhayanaut and is now a teacher at Chhayanaut. He is a regular artist of BTV and Bangladesh Betar.
Senjuti Barua is a teacher of Rabindra Sangeet in Chhayanaut. She is also the founder member of “Na-Gaan Gaowar Dol”. She has given many stage performances and shared the stage with veteran Rabindra Sangeet artists of Bangladesh. She is also a member of ‘Jatiya Rabindrasangit Sammilon Parishod’. She had secured all through first position in eight-year course in ‘Chhayanaut’.
The musical evening is open to all.
