Satkhira, Gopalganj: Two people were killed in road accidents in Satkhira and Gopalganj districts yesterday. In Satkhira, a local trader of milk was killed on Saturday as a motorcycle collided head-on with his milk carrying three-wheeler on Satkhira-Kaliganj road in Debhata upazila of the district, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Nitta Ghosh, son of Shibnath Ghosh of Jagannathpur village in the upazilla. The locals said that a motorcycle from opposite side hit the three-wheeler around 1:30 pm killing Nitta on the spot.
The sub-inspector of Debhata Police Station Yamin Ali said the body was sent to Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy. In Gopalganj, a youth was killed and his uncle injured as their vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch in Majhbari area under Kotalipara upazila of the district yesterday morning, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Moinuddin, 18, a resident of Kaliganj village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district. Police said the accident occurred when the locally made vehicle plunged into the roadside ditch in the area as its driver lost control over it, leaving its passenger Moinuddin dead on the spot and driver injured. Injured Khaleq was sent to the upazila health complex.
