Sabina, Krishna to play in Indian women’s league

Sabina Khatun, captain of Bangladesh women national team, is again going to play in the overseas football competition when she, along with her compatriot Krishna Rani have already been confirmed to play for an India team in the Indian Women’s League, a franchisee football league.

The Indian Women’s Football League just following the Indian Super League for men’s will start from third week of March when Sabina and Krsihna will play for Sethu FC, a team of Tamil Nadu, Seeni Mohaideen, the president of the Sethu FC informed through an on-line news.

The qualifying round of the league ended in November and the final round will be held in the third week of March while Sabina’s team (Sethu) qualified in the final round when Sethu FC were one of the five teams off 13 moved into the final round and seven teams will play in the final phase, informed Mohaideen.

Besides, Sabina and Krishna, some of other players of the Bangladesh team might be get chance to play in the Indian Women’s League when Sanjida, Ankhi Khatun, Maria Manda also attracted by some other teams of the Indian Women’s League.

Meanwhile, the door of international arena for women booters of Bangladesh have already been opened in 2015 through Sabina Khatun played in Maldives for Police team in a Futsal tournament and then she played in the AAF Women’s Championship in Maldives for the Maldives National Defense Sports Club.   

Sabina scored 37 goals including five hat-tricks in the Futsal tournament was adjudged player of the match in five  out of six matches. She scored 22 goals in the AA Women’s Championship.
