A two-week group painting exhibition titled ‘Extending’ is underway at Galerie Zoom of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in Dhanmondi of the capital.
The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition held on February 6. Eminent artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, while AFD director Bruno Plasse presided over the opening ceremony.
A workshop titled ‘Painting Progressive’ was participated by the students of Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Development Alternative throughout the month of September 2017. The artists have focused on natural beauty, landscape, rural beauty, texture and greenery, magnificence of nature as well as more. They also portrayed many themes which have a close touch with the nature, time and childhood memories. The participating artists are an intense observer of their surrounding ambiences and they meticulously projected them. Their paintings are refreshing and provide the spectators with a sense of pleasure. Their depictions are lively and vigorous. The artworks conceived and created from this workshop are being exhibited at Alliance Française de Dhaka’s Galerie Zoom.
‘Extending’ is an endeavour by artists SM Ehsan, Kuntal Barai, Dilruba Sharmin Rumky, Nayan Tripura, Mahmuda Ahmed, Bappy Linkon Roy, Suman Biswas, Rajin Mustafa Dipraw, Madhabi Sultana and Sajia Rahman Sondha.
The exhibition is open to all till February 20 and can be visited according to the following schedule: Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 9pm, Friday and Saturday (9am to12 noon and 5pm to 8pm). Closed on Sunday.
