‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ receives uncut censor certificate

Veteran actor Alamgir-directed much-talked-about film ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ has received an uncut censor certificate from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. Jalal Uddin Munsi, the secretary of the board, has confirmed the news that the film got the green signal from the censor board on Tuesday.

Earlier in the middle of this month, the film was submitted to the censor board for the clearance. Produced under the banner of Alamgir’s own production house Icon Entertainment, the film is expected to hit the cinemas on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh this year.

After a hiatus of nearly 32 years, Alamgir and Champa will be seen together in the film, along with new generation’s actor Arifin Shuvo and acclaimed Indian actress Rituparna. Alamgir’s debut directorial venture ‘Nishpap’ featured the pair last time. Besides, Syed Hasan Imam, Sadek Bachchu, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Saberi Alam, Bobby, Jaki Alamgir and others have played different characters in the film.

With acting in this film, popular Indian actress Riturparna Sengupta worked in the Dhaka film industry after a long time too.

The shooting of the film started on the premises of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in the capital on September 9 last year. The shooting of the film completed in two phases.

The story, screenplay and dialogue of the film are written by Alamgir himself, while Asaduzzaman Majnu is the cinematographer for the film.

Moreover, internationally-acclaimed singer Runa Laila will make debut as a music director with this film. Celebrated singer Ankhi Alamgir has sent her vocal to the playback of the film tuned and composed by Runa Laila.  l
