A court in Habiganj yesterday ordered judicial inquiry into the death of Chunarughat municipality's former ward councilor, who police said was killed in 'gunfight', reports UNB. Habiganj District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Atabullah passed the order after accepting a case filed by victim's wife Kazi Shahena Akhtar against seven police personnel of Chunarughat Police Station. The court also ordered to send the case to the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Abdur Rahim for further course of action. The accused policemen are- sub-inspectors Ataur Rahman, Omar Faruk, assistant sub-inspectors Delwar and Sajid Miah and Constables Monindya Chakma, Abdul Hamid and Nuruzzaman. Earlier on January 1, Yunus Miah, 40, former councilor of ward No. 9 in Chunarughat municipality, was killed in a reported gunfight with police personnel at Magurunda village of Chunarughat upazila.
