A weeklong Small and Medium Entrepreneur’s (SME) Commodity Fair-2018 begins tomorrow at Khulna Circuit House ground in the city,

The information was disclosed yesterday at a press conference arranged by Fair-2018 Sub-Committee at Khulna Circuit House Conference Room with Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Amin-ul-Ahsan in the chair.
Khulna District Adminis-tration will organise the fair in collaboration with SME Foundation, Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries (BISIC), Bangladesh Bank and others stake holders with the aim of boosting exports of country-made products.
Minister for Fisheries and Live Stock Naryan Chandra Chanda will attend the closing ceremony of the fair as the chief guest on January 30 while Khulna Divisional Commi-ssioner Lokman Hossain Mia is expected to inaugurate it tomorrow .
“A total of 50 SME organisations will participate in the fair showcasing their products,” said the Deputy Commissioner, adding that leather, Jute, Agricultural products, Handicrafts and others fashionable commodities will be on display.
The fair will open at 10 am and close at 9 pm every day. Cultural function will be arranged focusing on rural and cultural life and heritage of Khulna.
A colourful procession will be brought out on the inaugural day from Shaheed Hadith Park and ended at the fair premises.
Besides, a seminar will also be held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on January 28, he added.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahangir Hossain, Deputy Director of Khulna District Information Office and PID Javed Iqbal and Zinat Ara, President and General Secretary of Khulna Press Club Faruk Ahmad and Mallick Sudhangsu were present at the press conference, among others.
