Stocks maintained upward trend yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges were found finishing upward trend with higher transactions of some large-cap securities, reports BSS.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 502.42 crore from Sunday’s Tk 344.35 crore and the daily trade rose to 10 crore shares from 9.24 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 47.81 points up at 6,195.
The Shariah DSES and the blue-Chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 18.46 points up at 1,428.47 and 25.15 points up at 2,285.73.
At DSE, out of the day’s 335 securities, prices of 151 securities closed higher against 126 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were USMANIAGL, Takaful Insurance, BD Auto Cars, BBS Cables and Nahee Aluminum. The major losing issues were Deshbandhu Polymer, Sonargaon Textile, Green Delta Insurance, Jute Spinning and SP Ceramics.
Square Pharma topped the turnover list followed by Ifad Autos, GP, GHAIL and BBS Cables.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 163.83 points up at 19,118.29.
CSE, issues traded 238 while 117 closed higher against 81 closed lower when 56.60 lakh shares worth Tk 21.96 crore changed hands.
