Four injured
in CU BCL
factional clash

At least four activists were injured and another one was arrested with sharp weapon in clashes between two rival groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University (CU) unit over trivial matter on Saturday night. The injured were identified as Md Shawon, a second year student of chemistry department, Shafiqul Alam Miraz, a second year student of Human Reassures Management department, Liton Roy, third year student of statistics department and Rifat. Shawon and Miraz, were known as activists of ‘Sixty Nine’ group and follower of former president of CU BCL Alamgir Tipu.

Others, Liton and Rifat, were known as activist of a group named ‘Choose Friends with Care’ (CFC) and follower of Rezaul Haque Rubel, former Vice president of CU BCL. The activist, who was held, was identified as Shakil, an activist of ‘CFC’ group.

 “We have given four students primary treatment. One of them was critically injured,” said Dr. Abu Tayob, medical chief of CU medical centre.
