Natyakendra, one of the prominent theatre troupes in the country, will stage their two audience-admired plays ‘Bondukjuddho’ and ‘Gadhar Haat’ today evening at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital. The play ‘Bondukjuddho’, based on ‘The Trap’ by Egyptian playwright Alfred Farag and ‘Gadhar Haat’, based on ‘The Donkey Market’ by Egyptian playwright Tawfiq al-Hakim, have been adapted and directed by Tariq Anam Khan.
The main theme of the play ‘Bondukjuddho’ is treachery. One day police called a village chairman for asking the information about a terrorist named Hayna. Police know that Hayna has contact with the chairman. They then Police announced 10 lakh taka as the reward.
The cast of the play includes Arif, Sharif Hossain Emon, Mujibul Hasan and others. On the other hand, the story of the play ‘Gadhar Haat’ depicts the story of two unemployed youths, who waits for work in Gadhar Haat. One day they find out a farmer returning home with a donkey. The unemployed youths take away the donkey by tricking with the farmer.
The cast of the play includes Saif Ahmed, Sangita Chowdhury, Noman Ahmed, Kumar, Shimul and others. Nasirul Huq Khokon has designed lights for both the plays, while Khandakar Sazia Afreen Lubna has done the costume design.
