A seven-day solo exhibition titled ‘The Odyssey of the Soul’ by Fakrul Islam Mazumder Shakil is now underway at the Zainul Gallery of Fine Arts Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) in Shahbag of the capital. DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest on Wednesday on the gallery premises. Acting dean of the Faculty of the Fine Arts professor Shishir Kumar Bhattacharya, Professor of the Department of Drawing and Painting Rafiqun Nabi and Professor Abul Bark Alvi were present as special guests.

A total of 40 works of the artist is being displayed in the ongoing exhibition. His works mainly plunge deep into woodcut and a few lithographs. Most of his works are engaged with a single figure.

The exhibition remains open to all every day from 11am to 8pm till January 23.
