MSC force Jamal to share points

Mohammedan Sporting Club came from behind to force Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to split points in a 1-1 drawn match of Walton Independence Cup football tournament yesterday.

Held at the Bangabandhu national Stadium in the day’s first match, Nurul Absar led Jamal in the first half and Jahid Hassan Emily scored the equaliser for Mohammedan at the late hour of the first quarter of second half.

In absence of the foreign booters, it was a few differences between the strugglers Mohammedan Sporting Club, who completed the league on fifth position and the runners-up Sheikh Jamal.

Mohammedan, who deserved to take early lead with playing better authority, created the chance on 15th minute with a strong move down the right and Mithun Chowdhury fired a right footer just from outside the box but the ball curled and narrowly missed the far post.

Jamal, throwing out the big scare went ahead on 35th minute when it was almost a gifted goal scored by Nurul Absar.

Nurul Absar was enough lucky to score the goal, as Mohammedan’s second goalkeeper Rassel Mahmud Liton, when  trying to throw a ball in spite of taking a high kick slept the ball from his hand and the ball went to Nurul Absar way and he just edged past his marker and placed the ball in the far post (1-0).

The hard working Mohammedan became more aggressive to score goal and levelled the margin on 57th through a spectacular header from the veteran striker Emily (1-1).
