Jacob tower, a 225-foot high watch tower meant for the tourists who want to look around the lush green island rich in eco-tourism, wildlife, greens and unexplored natural beauties of the island from the top of the tower, is likely to be inaugurated at Charfashion in Bhola today. President Abdul Hamid is likely to visit Char Kukri Mukri on a two-day tour of Bhola today and inaugurate the tower. During his stay at the scenic tourist spot, the president is also scheduled to inaugurate some other development projects, including Rasulpur-Awajpur Moitree Bridge, Nazrul Islam Degree College, and Nazrul Islam Teachers’ Training College.
An itinerary signed by Charfashion Town Mayor Badal Krishna Debnath said Commerce Minister Tofael Amed and State Minister for Environment and Forest Abdullah Al Islam Jacob will attend the tower inauguration programme as special guests.
President will also unveil the foundation plaque of a tourist resort and eco-park on the island. The tower, claimed to be one of such tall towers in Asia, is constructed on government fund, written tour schedule details.
