Bangladesh players had a good day on the opening day of ITF Asian Under-14 Division Tennis Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam yesterday.

Most of the Bangladeshi players won their first round matches.  Md Rakib Hossain blanked Tandin Penjor of Bhutan 6-0, 6-0,  Mohammed Rumman Hossain beat Hamid Israr Gul of Pakistan 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 and Mehedi Hasan Alvi beat Fadi Bidan of Lebanon 6-1-, 6-2 in their respective boys’ singles matches,

 Zerin Sultana  Joly downed Ei Phyu of Myanmar 6-3, 6-3, while  Srabani Biswas Jui went down tot Layan M Shamim of Maldives 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 in the girls’ singles event.  Sonam Dorji of Bhutan received walkover against Masfia Afrin of Bangladesh in the other math.
