GM Ziaur Rahman of Saif Sporting Club was in 3rd position in the 16th Delhi Open International Rating Chess Tournament. He was sharing the third place with 15 players with all of them have earned 5.5 pints each at the end of seventh round games yesterday in New Delhi.

Tahsin Tajwar Zia earned 3 points and Mizanur Rahman scored two points. In 7th round GM Zia (Rating-2472) lost to number one seeded player of the event GM Naiditsch Arkadij (Rating-2701) of Azerbaijan. Tashin beat Arnab Kumar Mallick of India, Mezan lost to Arpan Das of India and Md. Abul Kashem lost to Arjun Bashkar of India.

The 8th round games will be held today and GM Zia will play against GM Rozum Ivan of Russia.
