Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged arms peddlers in separate drives in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Friday.

The arrestees were identified as Md Sohel Rana Panchu, of Biswanathpur Bakharali Bazar and Md Moinul Islam, 38, of Shukrabari Chowdala village in the upazila.

RAB sources said acting on secret information, a team of RAB-5 from Rajshahi Mollapara camp raided Biswanathpur Bakharali Bazar area around 1.30pm and arrested Sohel Rana along with two pistols, three magazines and 10 rounds of bullet.

In another drive, a patrol team of RAB from Chapainawabganj camp arrested Moinul along with a revolver, a pistol, a magazine and five rounds of bullet from Ekhlaspur village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district around 7.30 pm.

Later, the duo was handed over to Shibganj police station with two separate cases.
