RANGPUR: To begin normal life anew, 108 drug traders and drug addicts surrendered to the law enforcement agencies at a rally held on Sonaroy High School ground in Haragachh pourashava under Kawnia upazila here on Thursday, reports BSS. The Ward No-8 unit of Community Policing of Haragachh pourashava organised the rally titled 'Surrender of Drug Traders and Prevention of Child Marriage and Militancy'.
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs Tipu Munshi attended the event as chief guest and distributed 35 rickshaw vans among 35 surrendered drug traders for their rehabilitation. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Khondker Golam Faruk attended the occasion as the main discussant with Police Super Mizanur Rahman in the chair.
Tipu Munshi called upon the drug traders to give up the illegal drug business and come back to normal life.
