Bangladesh top-order batsman Imrul Kayes on Friday said that they want to focus more on what is positive and better for them in their next series and future games they have. Although the last series in South Africa Bangladesh have not done well, they seek to start afresh in 2018 with a solid start what will open with the tri-angular series.

“Let’s see it’s no gain of thinking over the past. The past is past,” said Imrul Kayes yesterday. “It’s better for us to focus on what number of series we have ahead of us,” Imrul told reporters in the aftermath of the evening practice session of the skill training for the next back-to-back home series.

“It will be benefited for us if we think much about it and work more over it,” he added. The left-handed batsman said that they are spending more times in practice on those areas what is needed to improve for doing the betterment of the upcoming series.

“Actually it’s nothing new. We’ve been practicing what we had done so many days in the past here,” the 30-year-old batsman answered. “We’ve Sujan bhai, who helps us a lot. We all know him well and at the same time, he knows us well,” the south-paw said.

“The areas we needed to work for improvement we’re now busy in working there,” he added.

Last tour in South Africa, Imrul Kayes had played in three formats of games against the Proteas though it was told that his place in the team is not well confirmed. But he thinks no more about it as he said that he will practice on his batting as long as he plays cricket.

“I don’t think much about my batting and place in the team. But I know I have to work on my batting as much as possible I play cricket because batsman can never go to its place of perfection. So, he has to work how long he plays cricket,” he viewed.

When asked about the influence of the role of Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Kayes said that they try to motivate the team and its players from different sides.

“Mashrafe bhai always motivate and inspires us all. Actually he is the best as a leader. He stays beside players whether it is good or bad time,” he said, adding:  “Shakib, on the other hand, is much experienced. He shares his experience what he gained from outside of the country with the players how they could be benefited. I think, it’s good and positive for the Bangladesh cricket and its uprising players.”

The experienced batsman said that the team who execute their best skills and performance in the field they will be victorious.

“If we could play as our own game then there is no need for thinking much about it. We know how much stronger we are at our condition. Yes, Hathurusingha knows a lot about us. But the main thing is to execute it in the ground,” he said.

“Everybody knows how we are at our own condition. It’s better not to utter by mouth rather than it’s better to show by working it in the field,” he added.
