SUST career club’s job festival begins today

SYLHET: The two-day job fair organised by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Career Club will begin on Tuesday. Vice-Chancellor Farid Uddin Ahmed will inaugurate the career festival around 10 am at the central auditorium. Seminars, workshops, skill development programmes, career talks and other events to enrich the students' knowledge and create a pathway to the global career will be held at the event, said Shuvo Ranjan Paul, vice-president of the club on Sunday afternoon at SUST press club. Different companies, including PRAN- RFL group, Basundhara Group, Grameenphone, BRAC, Confidence Group, United Finance, Epyllion, DARAZ.com and others, will participate in the festival, said the vice-president.

BUBT holds seminar on prospects of denim sector

The Department of Textile Engineering of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) organised a seminar on ‘Prospects of Denim Sector in Bangladesh at the hall room of the university permanent campus, Rupnagar on Sunday, says a press release. AFM Sarwar Kamal, chairman, BUBT Trust was the chief guest while Prof Md Abu Saleh, vice-chancellor, BUBT, presided over the seminar. The keynote speaker was Mohammad Jamal Abdun Naser, Director, Shasha Denims Ltd. He highlighted the challenges and prospects of Denim Sector in Bangladesh in an illustrative presentation.  He emphasized on innovation rather than copying from abroad in Denim and textile engineering sector. He also emphasized on industrial sustainability to attract foreign buyers.  Later, guests inaugurated and visited the Room of Textile Innovative Works created by the students under Merchandising Unit of Department of Textile Engineering, BUBT. The contest winners and the winners of the ‘Textile Talent Search’ 2nd season-2017 were awarded prizes.
