Devotee dies in Joypurhat Ijtema
Joypurhat: A Muslim devotee died in ijtema ground in the district early yesterday, reports UNB. The three-day Joypurhat district ijtema has begun in the ground of ‘Joypurhat Chunapathar Khoni and Cement Project’ through Aam Boyan after Fazr prayers with the presence of around two lakh devotees. Khalilur Rahman Pocha, hailing from Akkelpur upazila, died early in the morning. The ijtema will be ended on Saturday through Akheri Munajat.

Tk 7 lakh ‘Hundi’ money seized

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered ‘hundi’ money amounting to Tk 7 lakh from Putkhali border area in Benapole Port Police Station on Wednesday night. Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB took position on the banks of the Ichhamati River in the border area, said Abul Hossain, Putkhali camp commander of Khulna 21 BGB Battalion. A case was filed.
