Gazipur: A boy was killed and two others were injured in a fire which broke out at a slum in Block 2 of Ershadnagar in Tongi early yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Rana Ershad, 13, son of Monir Hossain while the injured were Monir Hossain and his other son Rajib. At least three houses and four shops were gutted in the fire incident. Tongi Fire Service Station officer Atiqul Islam said the fire broke out at a shanty in in the area around 5:45 am and soon it engulfed the adjoining ones. On information, three firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze after a half hour of frantic efforts with the help of locals.
