4 frauds arrested in capital
Detectives arrested four persons from the capital’s
Mugda area Sunday afternoon on charges of cheating people identifying them as relatives of top police and government officials.
The arrested were identified as Md Ibrahim Khalil alias Faisal, Md Abdul Jalil Shikder, Md Rafiqul Islam and Md Zahid Hasan.
“We arrested the four from Mugda police station area around 4.15pm on Sunday. They took around Taka 67 lakh from people with promising them to give jobs at police, army and home ministries, identifying them as relatives of top government officials,” said an official of Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Two separate cases were lodged with Mugda and Biman Bandar police station to this end.
Worker killed in wall collapse
GAZIPUR: A garment worker was killed as a wall of a garment factory collapsed on him at Mawna in Sreepur upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nasiruddin, a resident of Singardighi area of the upazila.
Witnesses said parts of a wall of a factory of Crown Fashion at Mawna collapsed on Nasiruddin at about 8am while he was working, killing him on the spot.
Man found dead in Sylhet
SYLHET: Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from Kuri Beel at Sadipur village in Osmaninagar upazila on Sunday.
Locals spotted the body of the deceased, aged around 45, floating on the water body in the afternoon and informed police. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Osmaninagar Police Station in this connection.
