National Board of Revenue (NBR) wants to spread a message among the countrymen that there is nothing to be afraid to come under tax net because the taxpayers are honored as respected citizen of the country, said NBR chairman Md Nojibur Rahman, reports BSS. “We want to inform the taxpayers that they are the respected citizens of the society . . . the NBR will respect you and your organisations . . . there is nothing to be scared,” he told a programme yesterday. Tax Zone-5 organised the programme to honor the tax card holders for fiscal year 2016-17 (FY17) at its Segunbagicha office in the capital. Congratulating the tax card holders, Nojibur Rahman said the NBR is honoring the tax card holders as part of its move to build a revenue friendly culture in the country. Taxpayers are contributing to the national development by paying tax, he added.
