Spin all-rounder Sunzamul Islam on Tuesday said that it is big challenge for the new players to break into the main squad in the performers-packed Bangladesh team.
“There is a squad of 32 players for the primary camp, where a fitness test is also there,” said Sunzamul Islam. The preliminary camp of the Tigers will begin today for the upcoming back to back home series,
“But it’s a big challenge to step into the main squad passing all these tests. So, I’ve to take preparation in such way so that I could break into the final squad,” Sunzamul told media one day before the onset of the preliminary camp ahead of the next back-to-back international series.
The 27-year-old spinner tipped Bangladesh as favouirtes among three teams of the next triangular series, stating that they will be winners if they could play their better cricket.
“As of now the tournament will be held at our home turf there will be more advantage for us,” the all-rounder thought.
“Along with that, the pressure will be more on our opponent’s teams. But there will have some pressure on us also as the games will be taken placed at our home yard. So, those who will play and execute better in the field they will be victorious,” he said.
“But we will have every effort to win the series,” he added. He said that their spin attack is better than their rival teams of the upcoming tri-nation series. “I think, our spin attack is better than our opponents. Even we are as a team better and favourite team. So, if we could perform better in a specific day in the field we’ll win the match,” he viewed.
When asked about his personal target, Sunzamul said that he wants to be the highest wicket taker if he could get chance to play for the team.
“I’ve personal plan and target. If I could get chance to play for the team, I’ll try to be best bowler. I’ll bowl in controlled way so that I could give less number of runs along with taking wickets. If I could be the best wicket-taker, it’ll be better for me,” he said.
