The 2nd international conference on Disability and Disaster Risk Management will be held in the capital in May next year, reports UNB.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the National Taskforce on disability inclusive disaster risk management held at the Secretariat yesterday with Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya in the chair.

Taskforce Chief Adviser Saima Wazed was also present at the meeting.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be the chief guest at the conference. The total number of people with disability and special needs in the country is 1,541,149 till December 21, Maya said.
