Rabindranath remembered
thru music and dance

Paying tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) and music organisation Roktokorobi jointly organised a cultural programme titled ‘Bere Uthar Obolombon’ at the main auditorium of the Museum in Shahbag of the capital on Friday. The programme featured songs, poetry recitation and dance performance on Tagore.

Eminent researcher and litterateur Dr Ghulam Murshid attended the programme as chief guest, while BNM Education Department keeper Dr Shihab Shahriar delivered the welcome speech.

Ghulam Murshid in his speech said, “Rabindranath Tagore is a poet who is not comparable with others and never be compared with in the future.  His song and poem inspire a man and make him energetic.”

Shihab Shahriar said, “We, the member of BNM and Roktokorobi, are very glad to organise the event ‘Bere Uthar Obolombon’ on Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore was not only a poet, but he was also a composer, storyteller, novelist, musician and playwright. At the end of his life, Tagore took up drawing and painting.”

After the discussion, artistes of Roktokorobi rendered Tagore songs, recited poems and performed dances.
