Title aspirants Bangladesh Army were off to bright start in the Shahjalal Islami Bank Victory Day Volleyball Tournament beating Border Guard Bangladesh by straight 3-0 sets at Dhaka Volleyball Stadium yesterday in the capital. Army won the match 25-9, 25-17, 25-20.

The day’s other match between Power Development Board and Bangladesh Police was going on till filing of this report. Nine teams are taking part in the tournament organized by Bangladesh Volleyball Federation.

Bangladesh Awami League youth and sports secretary Harunur Rashid inaugurated the tournament as chief guest. Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited deputy managing director Abdul Aziz was also present as special guest.
