MSC, Sheikh Russel fire blank

Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra shared points in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football after a goalless draw yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.   

Mohammedan, who shattered the high hopes of the Saif Sporting Club’s to remain in the title race with a stunning 3-0 win, narrowly escaped from a defeat in the their previous match against BJMC after a goalless draw, looked very impressive on the day.

But despite playing with some good tempo and enjoying better ball possession, went very closer to open the net but failures of Nigerian forward Nkowcha Kingsley could not score goals.

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra forming the team to fight for the title have been passing tough time and now struggling to just lift up the position from six place, were forced to be at the receiving side in most of the time in the opening 45 minutes and could not create even a half chance to score goals.

In the second half Russel looked work hard to bounce back and also took over their control and also put Mohammedan under pressure but this time also could not produce any good chance to score or make real threat and had to share points.

It was 18th match for both Mohammedan and Russel when the former made their fourth draw and the latter sixth.

Mohammedan, after 18th encounter earned 25 points from seven wins, suffered as many defeats and drew four matches and Russel won six, drew as six and suffered as many defeats to earn 24 points and remained on sixth place.
