Stocks witnessed upward trends yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions, reports BSS. The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 465.58 crore from Monday’s Tk 455.30 crore and the daily trade also rose to 13.53 crore share from 12.29 crore share of the previous session. The DSEX of DSE closed the day with 4.05 points up at 6,228.66. But the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also closed the day with 0.67 points down at 2,243.88 and with 3.17 points down at 1,370.40.
At DSE, out of the day’s 333 securities, prices of 106 securities closed higher against 188 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Rupali Life Insurance, Rupali Bank, Sandhani Life Insurance and Aamra Net.
The major losing issues were Meghna Condensed Milk, Dulamia Cotton, Meghna PET and Beach Hatchery.
Islami Bank topped the turnover list followed by National Tubes, Aamra Net, NBL and BRAC Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 20.92 points up at 19, 292.25. At CSE, 241 issues were traded. Of those, 69 closed higher and 135 closed lower.
