Stocks witnessed upward trends yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions, reports BSS.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 1,229.55 crore from Sunday’s Tk 983.60 crore and the daily trade also rose to 45.53 crore share from 33.82 crore share of the previous session.
The DSEX of DSE closed the day with 11.51 points up at 6,224.61. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 5.25 points up at 2,244.55 and with 0.33 points up at 1,373.57.
At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 99 securities closed higher against 178 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were National Tubes, Atlas Bangla, Shahjalal Bank, Standard Bank and EBL1SATMF.
The major losing issues were Dulamia Cotton, Imam Button, Asia Pacific Insurance, Modern Dying and CAPMBDBLMF.
GP topped the turnover list followed by ALIF, Shahjalal Bank, Square Pharma and National Tubes.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 29.36 points up at 19,271.32. At CSE, 237 issues were traded. Of those, 91 closed higher and 115 closed lower.
