Films can be watched at cinemas without ticket

On the occasion of Victory Day, a number of 157 cinema halls of the country will screen four Liberation War-based films on December 16. The four films are-- Chashi Nazrul Islam-directed ‘Ora 11 Jon’, Tauquir Ahmed-directed ‘JoyJatra’, Humayun Ahmed-directed ‘Aguner Poroshmoni’ and Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu-directed ‘Guerrilla’. Students and general audiences will get the opportunity to watch the films free of cost at the cinema halls across the country.

Information Ministry has taken an initiative to screen Liberation War-based films at the cinema halls on Victory Day and Independence Day every year, said Shahin Ara Begum, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Information. Film production and distributor house Jaaz Multimedia has given the responsibility to distribute the Liberation War-based films among the cinema halls across the country. Iftekhar Ahmed Nawshad, president of Bangladesh Cinema Halls Owners Association, said, “With the directive of the Information Ministry, we are arranging special shows at all the cinema halls of the country on the Victory Day. We will screen the films free of cost.”
