The China Institute of Cultural Relics, and the Architectural Society of China recently released the second twentieth century Chinese Architectural Heritage List, inscribing the Army Officials School in Yunnan in the process.

The Yunnan Army Officials School is located in Kunming beside the Green Lake Park. The school was built between 1907 and 1909, with the original site covering an area of more than 70,000 square metres. It contains a military drilling ground, and various support facilities. The complex was once the largest and most imposing school of its kind in the country. The still-existing buildings cover an area of 30,000 squaremetres, including the main building, an auditorium and an arsenal.
