Bangladesh aim to lift title

Bangladesh team are eyeing to emerge champions of the first edition of the SAFF Under-15 women’s Football Championship to start from December 17 at the Bir Shreshtha Mustafa Kamal Stadium in the capital.

Bangladesh is the host of the first edition of the SAFF Under-15 when out of seven nations, four countries, India, Nepal, Bhutan and host Bangladesh, are taking part in round robin league basis and the top two of the points table will play the final.

Bangladesh will take on Nepal in their opener when the opening match will be held between India and Bhutan, two matches will take place every day with the first match will start at 11:30 and the second match at 2:30pm.

Ahead of the tournament head coach of the women’s team Golam Rabbai Choton when talking in the pres meet yesterday said, “As the tournament is in our home ground, all will give their attention to this, we will play with two objectives, first to win every match and second is to present entertaining football.”

Choton, who has been looking after the women’s team for last few years and under him Bangladesh team have some success also, specially, two times zonal champions in the AFC U-14, once third, champions in the AFC Under- 16 qualifying round of South and Central Asia zone.
