Police arrested four operatives of neo-JMB, including the militant outfit's unit chief for 16 districts, in Mokamtola area of Bogra district on Wednesday night. The militants are: North Bengal unit chief of Neo-JMB, MD Babul Akhter alias Babul Master (45), the outfit's sura member Delwar Hossain alias Mistree Mizanur (39), Alomgir Hossain alias Arif (28), and Afzal Hossain alias Lemon (32). A 9mm foreign-made pistol, one magazine, 15 rounds of ammunitions, four sophisticated knives, and one chapati knife were found in their possession. In the course of primary interrogation, the militants confessed to their involvement with the neo-JMB, which follows the ideology of Islamic State (IS).

Md Asaduzzaman, the superintendent of police in Bogra, said a case had been filed against the four under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Shibganj police station. The four men were yesterday produced in the Bogra senior judicial magistrate's court. They were remanded in police custody for seven days.
