Dialogue between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a leaders of the World Political Parties High-Level Meeting,held in Beijing from November 30 to December 3, attracted a great deal of attention from the international community. This is the first dialogue between the CPC and the World Political Parties (WPP). It was a groundbreaking event in the history of the CPC, and also has great significance for the WPP.

Organized around the idea of “Working together towards a community with a shared future for mankind and a better world: The Responsibilities of political parties”, the meetings attracted more than 200 political and organizational leaders from more than 120 countries. It is expected that more consensus will be gathered to promote the creation of a community of shared future and of a better world.

Working together to promote these goals demonstrates the CPC’s willingness to fulfill its responsibility with Chinese characteristics. As such, it will work to respond the major concerns facing the world today, and work to solve the biggest international issues. These aims point out the direction for the development of the world and the future of human beings.

The Belt and Road Initiative carries China’s dreams along with it, and brings China and the world together by promoting common development. Adhering to the path of peaceful development, and promoting new types of international relations, China and the world move ahead hand in hand. As President of the Cambodian People’s Party, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said, “this Meeting of the World Political Parties, sponsored by the CPC, is of great historical significance.”

“Working together towards a community with a shared future for mankind and a better world” demonstrates the CPC’s spirit of keeping up with the times by finding challenging areas facing world development.

Human beings live in the same global community and each country is becoming more and more interdependent, with an increasingly shared fate. No country can deal with the challenges facing humanity alone, and no country can return to isolation.

This meeting enabled the WPP to share common views on equality and exchanges that helps to cope with the challenges and problems faced in the development of human society. In-depth communication will contribute to reach further consensus on strategic issues involving humanity’s destiny.

The new journey of China not only belongs to 1.3 billion Chinese people, but also to the world. “Working together towards a community with a shared future for mankind and a better world” requires the CPC to take the lead in shouldering responsibilities. It also calls political parties from different countries and different culture backgrounds, traditions and ideologies to take their own responsibilities as well.
