Case filed over Ctg businessman murder

A case was filed early Tuesday with Sadarghat police station in Chittagong over the murder incident of transport businessman Harun. The transport businessman Md Harun, 40, son of Alamgir Chowdhury and late nephew BNP leader Dastigir Chowdhury, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at his business firm on Sunday evening. Humayun Chowdhuy, elder brother of Harun filed the case. In the case statement no specific name was mentioned behind the murder, however, the plaintiff mentioned named for 10 suspects, said police.  “In the case statement the plaintiff mentioned 10 named as suspects. We have started our investigation on it,” said Md Ruhul Amin, Inspector (Investigation) of Sadarghat police station.  The transport business owner was shot dead on Sunday inside his business house at Madarbari area under Sadarghat Police Station in Chittagong city.

According to police, about 3-5 unidentified men stormed into his office located in Rahat Centre near Kadamtoli Shuvpur bus stand at about 6pm when he was sitting in his room.

“The men shot him from a close distance and left the place quickly. Later, local people rushed him to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where he was declared dead,” said Marzina Akhter, officer In-charge of Sadarghat Police Station.

“He was hit by three bullets. The duty doctor declared him dead after the injured businessman was brought to the hospital,” said Zahirul Islam, in-charge of CMCH police outpost.
