Two days after he was kidnapped by some miscreants from Chittagong city’s Bandartilla area, transport worker leader Nurul Islam was rescued from Mirersarai upazila of the district yesterday night, reports UNB.
Police said a team of Jorarganj Police Station in the upazila rescued Nurul Islam from Baroiharhat bus stand around 8:15pm.  Some men, identifying them as law enforcers picked up Nurul Islam, general secretary of City Human-hauler Workers’ Association, from Bandartilla on Wednesday night.  Later, Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation enforced an indefinite transport strike in greater Chittagong from 6pm on Thursday demanding that the transport worker leader be rescued unhurt.
